Hello DSO Officers!

How crazy is it that we are already near the end of the Fall semester?! 
This Newsletter is full of important information so be sure to review it all! As always, let me know if you have any questions!

*Note: this info is only relevant to student groups that are registered as DeSales Student Organizations (DSOs). If you are recieving this, you are listed as an officer on Bark for a DSO. Please let me know if you have questions.
Budget & Other Money Things...

Budget Requests

The deadline for first priority budget requests for the 2025 Spring semester is January 5th at 11:59pm. 
Budget requests may be submitted after the deadline but will not be given priority for funding (meaning there is no guarantee there will be funding available for your request). Any requests submitted after the deadline must be submitted at least 15 class days (meaning weekends and breaks do not count) prior to the requested event/program date. Requests submitted with less than 15 class days may not be approved.

Funding requests that were submitted for this semester that were not utilized CAN be used next semester (*This is an update to the policy from my previous budget email). Additionally, if your DSO got money from helping with Homecoming, that will roll over to next semester as well.
Budget and Homecoming money will not roll over to next academic year, so it will need to be used by the end of the Spring 2025 semester.
 

Reminder

As a reminder, it is DeSales policy that Venmo, cash app, paypal, etc. is not to be used to collect money for activities or fundraisers. 
We do have an online payment portal that can be used for your events to accept cards. If you would like to use this for your event/fundraiser please let me know in advance of your event/fundraiser and I can send you the details as well as report the usage to the treasurer's office.
 
Women for DeSales A Philanthropic Giving Circle of Special Interest to Women

Women for DeSales is a philanthropic giving circle of special interest to women which seeks to fund innovative programming that enhances the student experience at DeSales University which typically exceeds or does not fall under department or student organization budgets. Last year, this group of donors collectively distributed more than $65,000 to departments, clubs, and student groups.

Volunteer! Service Holiday Party! They will be hosting about 200 students from the Allentown School District for some holiday activities and to get a present from Santa!

*CAN COUNT TOWARDS YOUR DSO'S TWO EVENT REQUIREMENT (read for more details)*

There are many different days and times to sign up for to help with decorating, set up, clean up, etc.

*At least 3 members (doesn't have to be officers) from your DSO need to volunteer for it to count towards the requirement.
Those that have already signed up can count, however, individuals can only count towards one DSO.

MAKE SURE YOU CHECK IN using the QR code in the service office that will be labled "DSO Check In." Each person that helps from your DSO should check in using that QR Code. Reminder, each person can only check in ONCE for the credit.
 
Winter Involvement Fest Save the Date January 23rd Dorothy Day Student Union

Sign up your DSO for WIF!


Sign-ups for a table at the Winter Involvement Fest (WIF) are now open! WIF will be taking place on January 23rd from 3-5:30pm in Dorothy Day. This event will provide you with the opportunity to promote your DSO and the exciting things you do. There will also be activities, food & refreshments, and entertainment. As a reminder, all DSOs are required to have a table at WIF. At least one person from your DSO should be at the table at all times, but you can have a few people there at a time (try to limit the number of people running your table at one time so it is not too crowded).
