- Message from Colleges Against Cancer (longer message with more info was emailed out on Feb 6th)
- Our biggest event of the year is Relay for Life, held on April 4th, 2025 in Billera Hall from 5 pm-2 am. Relay for life is a community-based walking event raising money for the American Cancer Society. At our DeSales Relay for Life, we have activities spanning the entire evening, including performances, corn hole tournament, shave-to-save, survivor dinner, DSO club tables with activities, luminaria service, and more! As DSO, we offer a table at Relay every year where you can have an activity at your table to raise even more money for ACS! Please keep an eye out for a separate email regarding sign-ups and more information on this! The DeSales Relay page can be accessed by clicking the link HERE or scanning the QR code on our relay flyers around campus. This year, our goal is to maximize this effort by creating as many teams as possible and truly embody the community aspect of the event raising the most amount of money for the American Cancer Society as we can.
- Sending Sunshine
- Message from Caroline Erb:
- "Inspired by the mission of 'Sending Sunshine,' Caroline Erb and Amelia Monteiro are partnering with our local community and various organizations within DeSales University to make and take cards to show our love, appreciation, cheer, and support for the individuals in the Lehigh Valley and beyond! We are marketing this initiative to DSOs on campus to have their members make cards for various groups of people within the span of their specific focus groups. For example, SNA for nurses at local hospitals, SiS for assisted living facilities, CAC for cancer patients, SpO for SOPA athletes/coaches, CJA/HS for active law enforcement/emergency personnel, VA/ROTC for veterans and deployed military, etc. If you or your DSO want to participate in this initiative or have some place/someone you'd like us to send cards to, please email us at ce0389@desales.edu or am9778@desales.edu. We'd love to have you join us as we put our Salesian spirituality and core values into action!"
