25th Anniversary Commemoration, September 11th

Please join us for a poignant 9/11 Commemoration at DeSales University as we honor the courage and sacrifice of those who served our nation in the wake of September 11, 2001 and remember those who lost their lives on that tragic day.
We are honored to host a distinguished panel of share their firsthand experiences and or reflections.
Panelist include:
Dr. Ken Quick, DeSales Assistant Professor, College of Science, served as a police officer in the New York City Police Department (NYPD) for 25 years before retiring in the rank of Inspector.
Mr. Jeffrey Tomlinson, DeSales Instructor, College of Science,  has over 35 years in law enforcement that includes local police departments as well as over 20 years in the FBI.  While with the FBI, Mr. Tomlinson was assigned to various units to include investigating organized crime, international and domestic terrorism, and counterintelligence.  Mr. Tomlinson was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent of the Philadelphia Joint Terrorism Task Force shortly after the events of September 11, 2001. 
Sophia Amoretti, DeSales University, Homeland Security major, President of the Homeland Security Majors Club
SFC Christopher DiBella, Army National Guard,  Army veteran who served for seven years, including three tours in Iraq as a tank commander, before retiring and becoming a member of Pennsylvania’s Army National Guard.
**Dr.  Ahmet Yayla, DeSales Associate Professor; Director, Center for Homeland Security, former counterterrorism and operations police chief.

Their stories of bravery and resilience will be a powerful reminder of the strength and unity that defines us.
We will also pay tribute to Dan Gallagher, DeSales '00, who tragically lost his life as a result of the attacks on the World Trade Center.
This event is hosted by The DeSales Veterans and Military Services Center and is open to all members of the community. It’s a time for reflection, remembrance, and unity.
We look forward to coming together, to honor these heroes and reflect on the enduring spirit of resilience.
This event is open to all and will be an opportunity for reflection, learning, and community solidarity.
