The Tri Alpha Honor Society and Academic Success Center invites first-gen faculty and staff to participate in the First-Gen Fest on Wednesday, November 5th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Volunteers are needed for a faculty/staff advice table to:
- Answer common questions from first-gen students.
- Share helpful tips.
- Promote campus programs and resources.
- Hand out swag to our proud first-gen Bulldogs.
Not sure if you're first-gen? You might be if:
- Your parent(s)/guardian(s) do not have a Bachelor's degree.
- Your parent(s)/guardian(s) did not graduate from a 4-year college in the U.S.
- Your parent(s)/guardian(s) earned their degree as a non-traditional student (age 25+)
- Your parent(s)/guardian(s) completed an Associate’s degree but not a Bachelor’s.
- Your sibling(s) or other family members have a degree, but your parent(s)/guardian(s) do not.
