Dear University Community:
In celebration of the feast of St. Francis de Sales on January 24, 2026, I write to invite you to join in another University-wide service project, similar to last semester’s Mission Convocation, where we provided resources for school children, veterans, and people with financial challenges here in the Lehigh Valley. The Offices of Community Service and Advocacy; Campus Ministry; and Mission in the Center for Faith and Justice remain grateful for your generous response.
Due to calendar issues, we will celebrate this feast on Wednesday, January 28, 2026.
With our service this year, we will again assist those in need more locally. We are seeking volunteers—for about an hour—to help prepare warm packet bundles for area shelters and agencies. We will gather in the DUC, beginning with prayer at 3 PM, and enjoy some fun, Salesian trivia with prizes during our collaborative work. Please register for this event. Cocktails and soft drinks will be available beginning at 4 PM in the O’Connor Commons.
Additionally, we invite you to participate in the following events and activities in honor of the Feast of St. Francis de Sales:
- Mass in Connelly Chapel, noon
- Free French Treats from Fr. Jim Greenfield, president, at lunchtime in the DUC, noon - 1:30pm.
- Senior Salesian Soiree, 5:00 - 6:30 pm, O'Connor Commons.
- Free hot dogs at the Men's Basketball Game, 7:00 pm, Billera Hall
Thank you for your commitment to our University’s mission, especially as we honor our patron, St. Francis de Sales, who once wrote: “Nothing is small in the service of God.”
Peace,
Rev. Kevin Nadolski, OSFS, PhD
