The 33rd Rev. Thomas J. Furphy Lecture featuring Bob Woodward, originally scheduled for Tuesday, October 20, 2026, has been postponed. Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond his control, Mr. Woodward's team recently informed us that all of his fall speaking engagements and related commitments must be canceled.
The event was planned as a special opportunity for our community to engage with one of the nation's most respected journalists, and we are disappointed by this unexpected development.
However, we are pleased to share that Mr. Woodward remains enthusiastic about visiting DeSales University and has expressed a strong desire to reschedule the Furphy Lecture. In fact, identifying a spring date for the event has become a priority for both Mr. Woodward's team and the University, and those conversations are already underway.
We will share updated event details as soon as a new date is confirmed.
