NEW DeSales Weekly Guidelines

Publication Schedule

  • Published every Monday (except during holidays or alternate scheduling weeks).
  • Submissions are due by Thursday at 1 PM, the week before publication.

Submission Instructions

  • Email submissions to: DesalesWeekly@desales.edu.
  • Must be submitted from a @desales.edu email address.
  • All content is subject to approval.
  • Only University-approved fundraising events and activities will be published.

Holiday / Alternate Schedule Exceptions

  • No Weekly will be published on November 24, December 15, 22, 29, January 5, March 9, April 6 and May 11.
  • Submission deadlines for the next issue after a skipped week will still be Thursday at 1 PM the week prior.
    • Example: No issue on Nov. 24 → Submit by Nov. 20 for the Dec. 1 issue.

Types of Submissions

Announcements

  • Published once per semester per announcement.
  • Limit: 200 words
  • Attachments/graphics are subject to approval:
    • Must be .jpg or .png
    • Low-quality or copyrighted images will be rejected.
    • No videos accepted.
  • Submissions may be edited for style and consistency.
Events
  • May be featured up to two times.
  • Should be posted to BARK before submitting, if possible.
  • If not on BARK, include a link for more info or registration.
Wags and Wins: Celebrating Moments in Our Bulldog Community

Share positive stories: achievements, milestones, projects, career news, and more.
  • Subject to approval and published based on the number of submissions received.
  • Each submission must include:
    • A description (max 110 characters)
    • At least one photo (up to two accepted)
      • Must be .jpg or .png
      • No low-quality or copyrighted images
      • No videos
  • Submitting on someone else’s behalf? Include their written consent (email, note, etc.).
  • Include the following:
    • Students/Alumni: Name, class year, and major (e.g., Jane Doe ’20, biology)
    • Faculty/Staff: Full name and job title (e.g., Mary Doe, marketing specialist)
  • Ensure all details are accurate and truthful.
