The Humanities Department is excited to announce the launch of the Spanish Health CommuniCare microcredential, a foundational, credit-bearing program designed to help students build Spanish communication skills for healthcare settings.
By completing two introductory courses—SP130 Basic Medical Spanish I and SP131 Basic Medical Spanish II—students earn a DeSales digital verifiable badge that recognizes their Spanish language proficiency and cultural awareness. These skills are invaluable in today’s diverse healthcare fields, including nursing, physician assistant studies, speech-language pathology, and physical therapy.
Rooted in DeSales University's core values of Hospitality, Gentleness, Humility, Gratitude, and Wisdom, the microcredential prepares students to serve others with empathy, respect, and understanding—both in the classroom and in future healthcare careers.
Students interested in enhancing their Spanish communication skills and cultural competency can learn more HERE or enroll through the Spanish Program in the Humanities Department.
