Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival (PSF) proudly launches the 25th annual Linny Fowler WillPower Tour, running through November 18. This year, the tour brings William Shakespeare’s Macbeth to more than 6,000 students at over 45 schools across the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Celebrating a quarter century as PSF’s flagship educational initiative, the WillPower Tour has reached a milestone of 250,000 students since its inception in 2000.
The touring production is an 80-minute abridged version of Shakespeare’s Macbeth, featuring a professional set, costumes, and sound design. Each performance is supported by comprehensive educational resources, including a post-show discussion with the cast, student workshops led by trained actor-teachers, and a study guide for educators designed to complement classroom curriculum and broaden students' critical thinking skills.
The tour is fully titled The Linny Fowler WillPower Tour in honor of an endowment gift from its namesake, the late Marlene “Linny” Fowler, a beloved community philanthropist whose passionate belief in the power of theatre and education continues to sustain this transformative program.
The tour will travel across 16 counties through November 18. Host schools include William Allen and Dieruff High Schools in Allentown, PA; Whitehall High School in Whitehall, PA; Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, PA; Quakertown Community High School in Quakertown, PA; and Delaware Valley Regional High School in Frenchtown, NJ, among many others.
