The Tri-Alpha Honor Society, a national organization recognizing first-generation college students, is seeking student leaders to serve as President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Historian.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a first-generation college student
- Hold junior status
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2
- Be eligible for induction into the honor society in March (or already a member)
Officer elections will take place prior to the induction ceremony.
Who qualifies as a first-generation college student?
You are considered first-generation if any of the following apply:
- Your parent(s)/guardian(s) do not have a bachelor’s degree
- You are supported by parent(s)/guardian(s) who did not graduate from a 4-year U.S. college
- Your parent(s)/guardian(s) earned their degree as a non-traditional student (age 25+)
- Your parent(s)/guardian(s) completed an associate degree but not a bachelor’s
- Your sibling(s) or other family members have a degree, but your parent(s)/guardian(s) do not
