Thursday, April 2 is National Walking Day!
It's a perfect chance to celebrate the beauty of our sprawling campus and get some exercise.
But remember, safety comes first. Here are some quick tips to keep you moving safely:
- Be a Crosswalk Champion:
- Always use marked crosswalks and obey traffic signs. Put away distractions and make eye contact with drivers before crossing
- Light Up Your Night: Headed to the library after dark? Wear reflective gear and stick to well-lit paths whenever possible.
- Ditch the Distractions: Calls and texts can wait. Skip the headphones entirely or keep the volume low. Be fully present and aware of your surroundings, especially in busy areas.
- Respect the Road: Whether on sidewalks or designated paths, stay alert and share the space will bicycles, skateboards, and scooters.
- Campus Crusaders Together: Walking with a friend? Great idea! Extra eyes on the road enhance safety, especially at night.
Let’s explore our beautiful campus safely this National Walking Day. Together, we can create a vibrant walking culture that prioritizes both health and well-being.
