The mission of the Academic Success Center,in keeping with the mission of the University, is to promote student success "according to the philosophy of Christian humanism" by means of professional tutoring in reading, study skills, and writing; coordination of institution-wide peer tutoring in academic course work; referral to and interaction with appropriate resources; and through hosting the Gateway To Success Program, a University program for under-prepared students demonstrating leadership and academic potential.

Compassion and empathy are what drive this club into its core goal of creating a safe place for mental health. We will create a genuine, emotionally-intelligent community that knows it is okay to talk about mental health.
2. EXTEND UNDERSTANDING
In the case that someone feels comfortable sharing impactful or traumatic parts of their lives, the members will feel empowered to understand their feelings, and know it is okay to refer them to a trusted adult, if they see fit.
3. PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED
We will create opportunities for students and staff to be involved in making a difference in mental health culture at DeSales university.
4. EDUCATE, LEARN, REPEAT.
Not only will members be learning about various mental health topics, but the leaders/executive
board will be too. We will constantly be educating ourselves and using Active Minds National resources to apply new knowledge to our chapter.

The mission of the DeSales University Association for Women in Science (AWIS) is to promote
the equality of women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields. AWIS
tries to promote the idea of women being compensated fairly, being advanced without gender
bias in the workplace and of women being exposed to successful role models in the STEM fields.
Our goal is to reach out to young women in elementary and middle school students and support
young girls’ hopes to excel in the science and mathematics fields.

The Bulldog Band formed as a result of musically inclined students aspiring to
continue their musical expression in a matter that is not possible alone or with any other
organization at Desales, as no other organization at Desales enables students to play instruments
in an ensemble setting. Seeking to provide a space for students to continue to develop their
instrumental talents in an informal student run environment with other students, the Bulldog
Band aspires to allow students a space for self-expression through music. which is essential for
the spiritual development for one’s person. And since Desales encourages students to “be who
[they] are and to be that well,” the self-expression and spiritual development the Bulldog Band
provides promotes the Salesian notion of self-discovery and self-expression.

The EARTH Club exists to spread awareness and accomplish environmentally friendly initiatives on the DeSales University Campus. The club gives students the opportunity to work together on a wide variety of projects to make campus a greener place. The EARTH club members will participate in educating students and visitors about the dangers and health consequences of microplastics on the Earth and our bodies. We hope to employ the catholic belief of protecting God’s gifts and creating a clean habitat on campus. We are each others’ mentors, battle buddies, teammates, best friends, classmates— we are a family. The Steel Battalion family.
We foster a culture of excellence. We have a growth mindset and a competitive spirit. Complacency is not an option. We never settle. No matter if it’s in the classroom, in PT, in tactical training, in our academics, our clubs, our sports teams, our social organizations. We lead by example.
We continue to raise the standard for ourselves and our peers. When you join the Steel Battalion, you’re not just joining a developmental organization but a tight knit community of diverse individuals. The Steel Battalion works hard to create a supportive culture where cadets are not just coworkers but friends, allies and teammates. Cadets come from across the country, attend different universities and have different interests but all are united by the values of the Steel Battalion. Cadets not only learn and train together but relax and bond together during our military ball, Halloween dodgeball tournament, flag football games, family barbecues and Veterans Day events. Cadets are often each other’s best friends, roommates, workout buddies, frat brothers/sorority sisters and much more.
Active ROTC scholarships cover full tuition at any college or university, DeSales will provide scholarship recipients with room and board scholarship. Depending on where you are on your military journey, there are many different scholarship options. All outcomes are the same: full tuition coverage (during the activated period), a tax-free stipend, book allowances, and commissioning into the world’s greatest Army as a 2nd Lieutenant.
Ranger Challenge is Army ROTC’s Varsity Sport. Teams form early in the semester and train rigorously to prepare for the Fall Semester 2nd Brigade Competition where they compete against 44 other ROTC programs/universities in the North East . A first or second place finish at Ranger Challenge qualifies a team for the Sandhurst International Military Skills Competition which is hosted by the United States Military Academy at West Point in April. For the past five years, the Steel Battalion has placed top five teams at 2nd Brigade Ranger Challenge, winning for three of those five years. This tight knit group pushes themselves physically and mentally in rigorous practices that build a team ready to face whatever the competition may throw at them.

Additionally, ROTC Cadets at DeSales have exclusive access to the DeSales Veterans and Military Services Center located in Dooling Hall, room 215.

Compassion and empathy are what drive this club into its core goal of creating a safe place for mental health. We will create a genuine, emotionally-intelligent community that knows it is okay to talk about mental health.
2. EXTEND UNDERSTANDING
In the case that someone feels comfortable sharing impactful or traumatic parts of their lives, the members will feel empowered to understand their feelings, and know it is okay to refer them to a trusted adult, if they see fit.
3. PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES TO GET INVOLVED
We will create opportunities for students and staff to be involved in making a difference in mental health culture at DeSales university.
4. EDUCATE, LEARN, REPEAT.
Not only will members be learning about various mental health topics, but the leaders/executive
board will be too. We will constantly be educating ourselves and using Active Minds National resources to apply new knowledge to our chapter.

Our goal is to reach out to young women in elementary and middle school students and support
young girls’ hopes to excel in the science and mathematics fields.

The Bulldog Band formed as a result of musically inclined students aspiring to
continue their musical expression in a matter that is not possible alone or with any other
organization at Desales, as no other organization at Desales enables students to play instruments
in an ensemble setting. Seeking to provide a space for students to continue to develop their
instrumental talents in an informal student run environment with other students, the Bulldog
Band aspires to allow students a space for self-expression through music. which is essential for
the spiritual development for one’s person. And since Desales encourages students to “be who
[they] are and to be that well,” the self-expression and spiritual development the Bulldog Band
provides promotes the Salesian notion of self-discovery and self-expression.
